We often think that 5-axis CNC machining technology is the only solution for processing continuous, 5-axis complementary, smooth, complex surfaces. Once people encounter unsolvable problems in the design and manufacture of complex surfaces, they will seek five-axis machining technology. In fact, this is not the case, five-axis linkage is the most used five-axis interpolation RTCP. automatic conversion, with the technology, so that the processing accuracy, processing speed will have a qualitative improvement.
5-axis linkage CNC machining is the most difficult CNC technology, the most widely used technology, which integrates computer control, high-performance servo drives, and precision machining technology in one, applied to the complex surface of the efficient, precise, automated processing.
Compared with the 3-axis linkage support RTCP that is 3 + 2 axis CNC machining, from the process and programming point of view, the application of 5-axis CNC machining for complex surfaces has the following advantages.
1. Improve the quality and efficiency of machining, decrease most of the codes, reduce the machining time, rotate the tool tip around the workpiece, improve the machining accuracy by cutting down the amount of motion.
2. Simple operation, no need to measure the swing length when changing tools
3. The system has an axial compensation algorithm, and the post-processing is simpler.
4. Meet the new direction of compounding development.
5-axis CNC machining is much more complex than 3-axis machines in terms of CNC programming, CNC system, and machine structure due to interference and tool attitude control in the machining space.
5-axis CNC machines and CNC systems without RTCP must rely on CAM programming and post-processing, prior planning of the tool path, the same part, the machine tool for a change, or tool for a change, you must re-program the CAM programming and post-processing, and thus can only be called fake 3+2 axis CNC machine.
Generally speaking, there are two types of 5-axis machine tools: one is the 5-axis linkage, that is, 5 axes can be linked at the same time, the other is the 5-axis positioning processing, in fact, 5-axis triple linkage: that is, two rotary axis rotation positioning, only three axes can be linked at the same time processing, this commonly known as 3 + 2 mode of five-axis machine tools, can also be understood as a fake 3-axis.
5-axis linkage technology is not in all 5-axis machining industry can be used, the selection of 5-axis linkage technology of the CNC system price is high, for ordinary blister cutting, simple foam without changing the knife rough machining is not necessary to use, for high precision requirements, fast processing speed, complex processing technology with 5-axis linkage, tooltip rotation process, processing efficiency will be twice as much as half the effort.
The most reliable way to verify if the parts can be machine by 3+2 axis CNC machine is to view the mechanism drawing, in our product list on our website, there's one part which is machined by the 3+2 CNC machine, will you only think of using real 5-axis CNC to produce it when you glance at it?
